Chris Watt is an award winning screenwriter & script consultant.
A member of BAFTA Scotland & the WGGB, he is best known for writing the screenplay for the feature film STALKER, a psychological horror thriller, starring Sophie Skelton (Outlander) & BAFTA winner Stuart Brennan (Rise), which premiered at Frightfest in 2022 before going onto a theatrical release in the U.S. & DVD/Digital release.
Chris also wrote the script for the multi-award winning short film BRUISE, which premiered at the Oscar and BAFTA qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, before enjoying a successful festival run, playing all around the world.
His second feature film screenplay, the contained thriller THE MIRE, is just about to be released digitally, following a sold out premiere in 2023, while he was also the co-writer of the short film THE PURSUIT OF INDEPENDENCE, which is currently on a festival run.
As a consultant, he has worked with the BFI Film Labs & numerous screenwriting competitions, as well as a number of independent filmmakers around the world, as well as being a guest speaker for a handful of university screenwriting courses.
In 2022, Chris wrote the screenplay MORGAN'S WAKE, a crime thriller, which was a Top 5 Finalist in the Shore Scripts Feature Screenplay Competition. His pilot script for the proposed TV series SOUTHBANK was a semi-finalist, the following year, in the Shore Scripts TV Pilot Competition.
Chris currently has three projects in development with production companies in the U.K., including a TV series, and is in the process of writing his next feature film screenplay, titled HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN?
Chris is currently un-repped, is open to screenwriting commissions and has a number of screenplays available for option to any interested producers or production companies, in a variety of genres and mediums.
