A member of the Recording Academy, Derek Lefholz, aka DegreeZero is an licensing guru, artist, marketing consultant and label owner. He helps thousands of musicians, artists and bands with agreements, licensing and copyright issues. As music producer with writer and publisher credits on over 300 tracks, in many genres, he is keenly aware of the current trends and the fluxing state of the music industry.
Soon after he earned a Bachelors Degree in Business and Public Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Missouri, Derek became a forward thinker in the industry working for and mentored by some landmarks of the industry including: Columbia Records recording artists Ken Shepherd (Ozark Mountain Daredevils) , Garth Brooks’ manager, Pam Lewis, Grammy Award winning artist Burning Spear and many other talented and successful Independent and Major Label musicians, producers and managers. He has licensed thousands of songs to retail, film, television and media global markets and is also a certified Engineer and Producer.
