About Kailey

Kailey Shaffer is a violinist, music artist, songwriter and music producer born in Bryan, Ohio. Kailey grew up in the arts, dancing since the age of 3, writing songs, singing, and playing violin. She graduated from the Berklee College of Music in 2013, and soon after moved to New York City to pursue her career as a freelance violinist. She has performed with artists such as Rod Stewart, Annie Lennox, Willie Nelson, Nikolas Metaxas, Mario Castro Quintet + Casey Benjamin, Lalah Hathaway, Rob Leines and more.

After moving to Los Angeles, California in 2015, she began pursuing her dream of being a music artist, songwriter and music producer. She has spent the last couple of years developing her unique sound that would be best described as moody singer-songwriter alternative pop with influences such as Labrinth, James Blake, Banks and more. The addition of real strings with haunting melodies performed by Kailey herself brings a unique edge to her music, and a sound that is purely her own. Her ability to tell honest and raw stories through her lyrics captivate her listeners where they can instantly connect.

In addition to her career as a performing and recording artist and violinist, she has co-written with numerous songwriters, producers and artists such as Rob Kleiner, Marta Galuszewska, Leila DeAngeles, and Jasmine Crowe. Kailey co-wrote the Billboard Top 40 dance hit “Chess Game” by artist Jasmine Crowe which charted in 2019. She also recorded and produced the debut hit “One More Night” with up-and-coming recording artist, Leila DeAngeles. In addition to writing and producing with other artists, she has also written and recorded for various music libraries including Closer Music and Megatrax. Kailey also writes, produces and composes for sync placement opportunities.

Kailey’s debut single “Attached” released in April 2019, and was written by herself and co-produced with Grammy nominated songwriter, producer and engineer, Rob Kleiner. In addition, she released a second single and music video titled “I Wonder”, that was written, recorded, produced and video edited by Kailey. She has been writing, recording and producing her upcoming singles to be released throughout 2023.
