I am currently re-reading Michael Caine's Acting in Film: And Actor's Take on Movie Making and I find it even more useful the second time around! What other books do you recommend for inspiration or education? Any particular stand-out favorites?
Hi Rebecca, I love that book I think anybody can enjoy it even if they are not in the industry. I reading at the moment " Audition" Michael Shurtleff, great book too, going deep in the characters for cold read.
Take a look at these free webinars for actors: http://www.PerformerWebinars.com. Do one at a time, take action and come back. They are very popular and bold.
The Michael Caine book and his videos are great. Good choice there. Here's another book I think should be in every actors's library: One Less Bitter Actor by actor-teacher Markus Flanagan. I have recommended this book countless times and it remains a favorite. The chapter on auditioning is alone worth more than the price of the book. I did a podcast interview with Flanagan a couple of months ago and it's been very popular. It's free, so you might check it out and see if you agree that this is a book you should add to your library. http://www.actorstalkpodcast.com/012
