Animation : Blast from the Past by Daniel Husbands

Blast from the Past

Their have been a lot of cartoons made in the history of animation and Hanna-Barbera has a long list of show that they have contributed to that history. Some of these, if your old enough, you might remember, and if your not, they might be good to check out just to see what this era was about. Some of the greatest classic cartoons have generated newer or rebooted ideas that have continued to entertain for decades. The Flintstones is a cartoon that I use to love watching, may this inspire you to research what has gone before as you make your way into the future.

So many iconic cartoons, Daniel Husbands! I'd love to see a new "Flintstones" movie (animated or live-action).

It's really hard to find the boomerang stuff these days. I was and still am a huge fan of HB but I think the only thing that is still regularly in circulation is the Flintstones and Jetsons. It seems funny to refer to Scooby Doo as "relevant", but until recently(not in dog years) you could still watch that. It would be interesting to do a study of why SB suddenly fell out of favor with the networks.

Personally I learn more towards the Looney Tunes. It was a more encapsulated format where the characters could react with verbal as well as well-defined physical humor. Though HB relied upon a slick, hepcat type of humor a lot of times, I tend to agree with Ralph Bakshi who said that HB was too repetitive and formula based. Between the two HB and WB, I think I could complete most of the animation tasks at HB but WB, as I watch looney tunes, I think most of that tech is still a mystery to me. Hats off to both.

I love them. They live in my good and Happy memories in front of the television..

Did anyone else ever watch The Greatest Adventure Stories from the Bible, with Derek, Margo, and Moki?

I loved The Flintstones and Scooby Doo as a kid!

Look out boob!

Hi. Me too. I loved all these cartoons. Now I am writing an animation script.

That is a blast from the past. Even as a kid, I was never really a fan of HB's limited animation style. I grew to appreciate it over time, however, and this image is like a photo from my childhood.

I used to watch Boomerang channel back in the 2000s and early 2010s I'm glad they use to show these shows like Yogi Bear, Flinstones, Huckleberry Hound and the Jetsons. Those were the days!
