Animation : Dreams - An Anthology by Bob Harper

Dreams - An Anthology

Hello everyone! I have been consulting for Brainstorm Productions, a nonprofit animation studio comprised of Neurodivergent artists, most on the Autism Spectrum. They have been working hard on an anthology of animated shorts based on the theme, Dreams. Each artist is writing, directing, and producing their own short, and we are releasing them on our YouTube to celebrate Autism Awareness Month. The first installment, Breakfast Nightmare,  just landed today. Please like, follow, share,  and subscribe to see what these amazing artists are creating.

Here is an interview I did with Animation Magazine describing what we do at a neurodiverse studio of animators and specifically about the Dreams Anthology. As a father of a son on the Autism Spectrum, this studio and project is very near and dear to me as is the cause to showcase neurodivergent talent and give them a platform to share their vision and their voices. https://www.animationmagazine.net/2024/03/brainstorms-neurodiverse-artis...

Creativity and art should be accessible to everyone, this is a great initiative. Thanks for sharing Bob Harper

Ramon Gonzalez did an excellent job, Bob Harper! Fantastic interview! "We know these animators can write, direct and produce their own stories and they deserve a platform to be seen and heard." I agree fully. I think it's really cool that you're consulting for Brainstorm Productions and helping the artists get their work out. Round of applause for all of the neurodiverse animators on this project and everyone who helped put this collection together! Looking forward to the next episode! Hope a lot of people watch this collection and hope it does incredibly at the festivals!

What an awesome program, Bob Harper! Thank you for sharing the interview link with us, it's so cool to learn about how it all came together. You mentioned that scheduling was the hardest part of the project. If you do something like this again in the future, would you approach the deadlines and requirements differently with those struggles in mind? Will the other videos be released each week?

Bob Harper

Ashley Renee Smith, Thanks for asking. We are using this project as a litmus test to see what our animators can handle, and we will map out our future projects with the data in mind. We are striving to release a new short each week, but we won't beat ourselves up if we don't.

Bob Harper

Maurice Vaughan Thanks! I will let Ramon know you liked his short. He had a blast producing it.

Bob Harper

Daniel Husbands I agree!

You're welcome, Bob Harper. And thanks. I'm gonna share Ramon's video on my social media.

As someone who’s on the spectrum and has a son on the spectrum, thank you for sharing this! I had no idea this existed! I can’t wait to share this with my family!

Bob Harper

Brian Gunter I'm glad you found us. I also have a son on the spectrum. It's the main reason I am so passionate about this project.

Brian Gunter

Bob Harper I feel you. I watched the first episode and I think my kids will love it! Especially who it’s coming from. So good for you and please pass along another “great job” to the team. We’ll stay tuned here!
