Thanks, Ashley! Well, I bought my van in 2021 and converted it into a campervan. (It used to be an old FBI surveillance van, believe it or not! Lol.) Then, I came up with the idea of using it to go to film festivals to get people to do voice-acting lines for my radio-plays for "Rush Hour Comedy Radio". Then Covid hit, and all the film festivals got shut down, so that was the end of that idea for a while! Lol. But then, in 2023, I started animating with the help of A.I (I have migraines and epilepsy and I can't animate the normal way, because being on the computer too long triggers them). And so I thought, well if I'm going to get voices from people at Film Festivals for Rush Hour Comedy Radio, I might as well do it for my animation website (Silly Side Productions), too. So this summer, I want to take my "mobile studio" and travel to different film festivals, and collect voice acting lines from people who would like to try voice acting. And then once I'm finished editing it, they'll be able to hear themselves on my websites/YouTube channels/ podcasts. ( I'm hoping people find the idea as fun as I do! )
That is a very innovative way to create something. The advantages of being able to creatively repurpose whatever we have will always be useful. Please share your progress as you get recording.
How cool! We once built a rolling live TV studio into an RV. This is, if I may, totally awesome!! Excited to see what you create here, Niki "giggles" Galiano.
That is so neat, Niki "giggles" Galiano!! I agree with Daniel, please keep us updated here in the Animation Lounge about how that project progresses. I think it could be such an innovative and fun way to approach animated storytelling. Also, the fact that your van was an FBI Surveillance van only makes it cooler!
If anyone in the Phoenix, AZ metro area is looking for a van for they own mobile studio, my neighbor, Steve, just told me today that he's selling his conversion van. It's pretty nice inside...carpeted, bed/bench, captain's chair in the middle, and it even has a high top, too! It needs some work - the passenger seat is wobbly, and the convertible bed/bench in back is up on 2x4's. But... if you're handy and need a mobile studio, you could fix it up. (The running board is also a bit loose.) It's a Ford Econoline 250, and it's got 187,000 miles on it, but he says it still runs well. He's got clean title in hand. We're having a neighborhood garage sale this Saturday, and he said if it doesn't sell it by then, he's just going to put a "For Sale" sign in his window. (I'm in south Chandler/ Sun Lakes neighborhood.)
That's so neat, Niki "giggles" Galiano! What inspired you to arrange this setup?
