Animation : I'm looking for investor by Mohsen Abdolali

I'm looking for investor

Hello, I'm looking for investor to create an Animated Feature Film.

How I can connect with a right person?

No one answers me.

Mike Boas

Everyone who wants to produce wants to know how to find investors!

I’d recommend Tom Malloy’s book, Bankroll, which has plenty to say on the subject. One tricky aspect is that if another producer knows of an investor with deep pockets, they’re not going to give out their number. They’d prefer to keep that person to themselves for when they have a project of their own to pitch!

You can also do a search of the education offerings here on Stage 32 for webinars on approaching investors.

If you’re looking for specifics on animation investors, that may be hard to come by. Animated features, with few exceptions, tend to be multi-year projects with multi-million dollar budgets.

What have you tried so far? What materials do you have in place?

Mohsen Abdolali

Hello

Thank you that someone answered.

Thank you for your answer.

Well, my studio is located in Iran. And we have the experience of making several series and a large number of advertising animations and several short film titles. for over 15 years.

But, now, I have a good story from one of Iran's best writers.

Our story has some elements of Iranian culture. On the one hand, it can be distinguished by different works that almost all became the same.

Regarding the budget, my plan is to produce under one million dollars, in a maximum of 20 months.

I tend to talk to investors, or business partners who are willing to co-produce.

We haven't entered the concept stage yet, to provide our partners with the opportunity to comment on the project.

If anyone is interested in talking or more information, they can contact me by email.

Now that I know more about your project, I would recommend reaching out to those who have produced films with a similar subject matter.

If you are looking for funds outside of Iran, you might consider attending some European film markets: Cannes, Venice, Berlinale.

Mohsen Abdolali

Thank you for your guidance

But if I can have co-production, I think it is more efficient.

I will probably participate in the market.

Mohsen Abdolali Hi Mohsen, can you tell me why the link to your website in your profile, redirects to booking.com and the second time I tried it, it went to an online hardware shop? If you are looking for investors, transparency is the key. People will want to know about your track record, but won’t be able to do any of that at booking.com.

I mean it maybe be diffrent with typical stories ( super hero and etc)

If you can help me or interedted to be a part of it , text me.

Mohsen Abdolali films set in Iranian culture win international awards, Mohsen. I think films can help us understand one another’s cultures. Onwards and upwards, my friend!

I have another question , but I do not know , it's the right place to ask or not. I believe our story is suitable for Netflix.

but I heard Netflix has own network and work with familier studio and producer.

big problem is our situation in Iran. we stuck here.

we do not have access to international business.

but if we make this animation for Netflix , we can not present it on our country and I believe it's not matther.

work with Netflix is best opportunity that we could achieve.

as I mentioned before , I want work with a low budget.

so introduce an investor can give a chance to a team with big dream.

Our website has a virus attack and will be resolved very quickly.

I have put the portfolio in this link below, I think it can show our abilities.

Hi Mohsen. Producing animated features is very hard and expensive. You'll need not one, but many investors, co-producers and sponsors. Tom Malloy's Book "Bankroll" is a great place to start. However, you have to be prepared to answer the following questions:

1) What's the story about? (logline)

2) What's the audience?

3) What's the animation technique? 2D? 3D?

4) Do you have an estimate of the budget?

5) Where are you planning to produce the film? Iran? If so, how does Iran compare in terms of pay rates vs other countries such as India, China or Latin America? (where you could maybe the movie at a lower rate)

You need to have clear and specific answers to those questions. Hope this helps!

Mohsen Abdolali

That's right, if you see our Reel , you can see our team is ready for doing that.

1) What's the story about? (logline)

"The magical journey of legendary characters to the contemporary modern world and an adventurous and exciting attempt to save the land of fairy tales........."

2) What's the audience?

"Childreen and adualt.

6+"

3) What's the animation technique? 2D? 3D?

"3D"

4) Do you have an estimate of the budget?

"without consider "English" voice actor , about $650,000.

because first plan is Iranian people , so we use Iranian actor.

for international distribution need localization.

maybe investor can solve this issue and help us to produce movie with English voice actor from begin.

this budget consider all cost from story to render.

Certainly you must know that , this is a low budget animation."

5) Where are you planning to produce the film? Iran? If so, how does Iran compare in terms of pay rates vs other countries such as India, China or Latin America? (where you could maybe the movie at a lower rate)

"This movie will be produced in Iran.

And you will definitely understand with this budget that we produce cheaper than India and China.

Of course, some costs are global, such as the cost of the Render Farm"

Mohsen Abdolali

Geoff Hall I put our Demo Reel, Please take a look at to that.

Geoff Hall

Mohsen Abdolali will do, Mohsen.

Geoff Hall

Mohsen Abdolali wow, that’s great, Mohsen. I love the character design; especially the bearded character. Well done on your work so far. Check out the webinar that Mike has pointed you towards. And also write to success@stage32.com and let them know about your project. I’m sure they can put you in touch with the people you need to help realise your project.
