The Showrunner App sounds like a fun way to use AI

Is AI bad or good? I can't tell you, but I think the disadvantages or benefits of a technology will show in the way how it is going to be used. I recently stumbled upon this article about Showrunner. It's an app that introduces you to animated shows and allows you to create more stories inside the world of these shows. If you want, you can even integrate yourself into the new episodes and AI will help you do that.

I think it can remove the barriers for people, who thought about getting into the Animation game, but never did, because of a lack of resources, collaborators or any other excuse. It's not far away from the concept of people entertaining each other that makes Social Media platforms like TikTok so successful. I can imagine someone's character to become a "star" via crossovers and people go like "hey, it's that hilarious dude/gal from that series!" What are your thoughts on this? Here is the link to the article: https://www.indiewire.com/news/breaking-news/ai-app-showrunner-create-an...

An AI tool called Showrunner launching today lets you create your own episodes of an animated TV series that look like 'South Park' or Pixar or anime.

It will definitely be interesting to see if AI animation has serious legs. Think creating high quality content that can/will engage broad audiences is much harder than many seem to believe it is. Also believe the user base for something like this will be quite niche. Sure, it makes things more accessible, but in creative circles, there is a lot of wariness around movements like this. However it'll only take a few great creators to use this tool to their gain to break things wide open for the industry. The question as always will be though about the financial structures and whether they're set up to enrich or exploit.

Pat Alexander, I agree with you on your last point. For now, it seems that the target users of the app will be non-professional animation fans, who want to play around with ideas for the series presented to them on the platform, but I do see that once this concept of "creative" AI application spills over into tools for professional territory, then we're in the critical area, that you've hinted at.
