Asking the professionals help

Hi all,

I am an author out of industry but who has a deep passion to writing as a main job in my life. I am an architect and a semi professional author from Istanbul/Turkey. I have one published book in Turkey and I translate it unofficially in English as well. My book contains 10 short stories in mystery/horror genre, all the stories passing in different spots of Istanbul Since I released my book I keep thinking about to adapt that in mini series for the platforms. But neither I have time(I am a full time employee in my industry) and education to convert the stories to script, nor I have any contacts from the industry to offer my book as a potential show for platforms such as already operating ones like Netflix, Disney+ and the ones potentially will be in Turkish market like Paramount+, HBO.

At this point I wanted to type down an entry here for asking help of the professionals of the industry. Which steps I have to follow on the way to adapt my book to a show and get connections from the industry? Actually I really want to be a full time writer because I have a lot of ideas to write in my mind but as a huge fact front of me, I have to make money for my life and the best way is to do my profession, at least for now.

Thanks in advance to everyone who will give ideas, support or even good wishes to me on my writing adventure!

Hi, Murat Ersahin. Great to meet you. You could hire a writer to adapt your book into a mini series. Writers charge different prices up front. Some writers charge less up front and get a bigger percentage of the profits on the backend (after a movie makes profit). You could post an ad on the Job Board (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

Here are some blogs about networking that could help you make connections in the industry: www.stage32.com/blog/tags/networking-41

If you do decide to adapt your book into a mini series yourself, here's a blog about finding time to write a script with a full-time job: www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-find-time-to-write-a-screenplay-even-with-a-...
