I write stuff for the cinema, the question is if a producer was interested in one of your projects and they only did streaming would you submit your script to them. Can new writers be successful if there work is only on streaming sites?
Hi, Tim Bragg. Hope you're doing great! If a producer was interested in one of my projects and they only did streaming, I'd definitely submit my script to them. Streaming is HUGE, so writing for streaming is a great career path for screenwriters! I'm sure new writers can be successful if their work is only on streaming sites. I personally want to write for the cinema and streaming.
Maurice it has been an unexpected year. Stephen I would not be showing my work at film festivals and being considered for BAFTA's/ Oscars and Golden Globes and I do not feel the actors and crew would be getting the recognition they would if the story were seen in the cinema.
this is my subjective opinion based on the Russian film business. if the author does not have a familiar banker who is ready to give a budget to the project, he will not be able to launch the project on streaming. the screenwriter will be able to find work only on other people 's projects. well, I don't believe the situation you described, when a producer is interested in a streaming project without funding.
The new stuff I write is going to be low budget and for a wide audience. I have had producers read my stuff and it always comes back to it is not commercial enough or it is written for the small screen. Everything I have written has been independent and art projects geared towards specific audiences with certain subject matter and themes.

What would be the downside?

It might be if the difference between 'their', 'there' and 'they're' is known by the writer.
Langley I do not understand.
