I am a solely a composer. I am not a screenwriter, producer, director, etc. None of those jobs have any interest to me. And as such, I am disappointed that there does not seem to be anyway in the advanced world of "AI" where software can analyze my interests for me to get targeted emails from stage32 that I am interested in. I continue to get a very large number of emails from stage32 especially script related stuff which I need to spend time to look at and delete. I want to get emails from stage32 that I care about - music related blogs, classes, and other audio related material. I don't want the 20 or so emails I get a day from stage32 that have nothing to do with my profession.
I have been suggesting a tailored/targeted email approach to support for a few months now but they just don't get it.
Here is an idea. Let me respond to an email whether I want to get more like it in the future or not. So if I say no to a script one, then no more script ones - especially if I am not a member of that lounge.
P.S. - would have put this post in the support lounge but there isn't one.

Hi Joel Irwin You do have control over your emails. If you go to the settings button in the upper right hand corner there is a drop down menu and a tab that says EMAIL PREFERENCES. Once you go in there you can select daily, weekly, monthly, or pause. Also, you can manage what kind of newsletters you get.

I am not sure you fully understand. For example, I am still getting emails about actors and showrunners for example.
Firstly your options are not really in email preferences. You have to go to the bottom and select newsletter preferences, then have it send you an email and go to the email to click on a link? Why so much fuss - the logon has been validated. Why not just include those preferences in the options screen.
Secondly, you choices are broad categories - all or nothing. You have 4 broad categories - you get all or nothing. I don't understand why the choices are tailored to the same categories as the lounges. Four say for each segment of the profession. I want to see educational opportunities for composers for example but not for actors.
Finally, you make it very difficult imho for users to get support. This lounge (anything goes), is not a support forum. If you are not planning to offer phone or chat support, at least have a lounge specifically for support that provides 'reasonable' turnaround. The email is not imho timely. every time I sent and email and waited for a response took days each.
Each of your email communications with us, needs to take into account our interests and needs to be
tailored. Streaming services (and even my workout gear) looks at our activity and via algorithmic study, tries to (and most of the time succeeds) in determining which things we would be most likely to be interested in. As our interaction continues, it gets increasingly better in predicting which things we would like to see. That is one of the promises of AI. So if I get presented scripting offers and decline to see them, then I am less likely to get more of the same unless I manually choose one.
I don't want to block all my educational opportunities, for example. Just the ones about scripts. Right now you don't make that possible.

I was just letting you know you can reduce the number of emails, including pause it altogether. I personally don't have anything to do with it. I don't work for Stage 32. If you want tailored interaction, my suggestion is pause all, and just login and go to the lounges you want.
No there is no support forum. You can email them your suggestion but keep in mind, the code is over 10 years old and what you wish for may not be possible right now.

If you want to see what classes there are for composers, go to the education tab and search by topic. That was recently updated to make finding specific topics easier.
My overall point is/was that he emails are all or nothing - everybody gets everything without any regard to interests. On your last comment for example, I can choose only to get emails on all educational opportunities - not just the ones of interest to composers.
I have been stage32 participant for well over 10 years and honor you for your choice to help out. However, the current support paradigm is not particularly effective. Though I agree with you that nothing is unlikely to change with the current coding model. For example, I have complained for over 5 years how difficult it is to edit an original post in a lounge or that you can attach pictures but not pdf's (which is how us composers share and discuss scores).
I just went ahead and turned everything off. shame - but too many irrelevant emails for me.
P.S. - this post was originally in the composing lounge. I am not sure why it was moved to acting but am a sure there is a legitimate explanation :)

Joel Irwin On editing. Hi John, you can go to the down arrow ^ at the top right of your post and click on it. There are lots of options there and one includes EDIT
