Please note that this is a tentative agreement, I’m not sure what tips it over into the realm of a concrete agreement - maybe it has to be ratified by the DGA members - but this will no doubt unfold in the coming weeks.
The agreement covers, amongst other things, Residual Payments for a Streaming Production, a wage rise over a three year period worth 12.5%, and an agreement as to the use AI, which states
“Groundbreaking agreement confirming that AI is not a person and that generative AI cannot replace the duties performed by members.”
That to me is a bit of a head scratcher, that it had to be ratified that ‘AI is not a person’, but there you go, this planet just gets weirder by the minute!
