A high school English teacher by day, screenwriter by night.
I've been teaching English/Language Arts/Composition/American and World Literature, as well as Social Studies (History, Economics, Civics, Geography) for 20+ years.
I've been writing screenplays, short fiction, and poetry seriously since 1993. My writing journey has been, as John Lennon wrote, "a long and winding road". Until this past October, I had absolutely no confidence in my writing ability, but it was part of who I was. I couldn't give it up, even though I NEVER showed my product to anyone. No one in the business, no one I knew. My own family barely knew I wrote creatively. I was so frightened someone would confirm my fears and tell me to stop, give up; that I was no good. That all changed in October.
I met my mentor and a friend who, through his platform "The Failed Filmmaker" shepherded me through a writing process and empowered me to be who I always wanted to be: a writer. For that, and for the gift of confidence in myself, I'm forever grateful to Sean LaFollette.
So, here I am! I write everyday. I'm proud of what I write, enjoying the creative process. I'm looking forward to connecting, possibly collaborating, and being part of a community of writers and filmmakers. Let's create something!
