I love documentaries. How about you? What’s your favourite documentary?
I came across the ‘Secrets of the Neanderthals’ and thought, as a sucker for origins and ancient history stories, that this was a must see. Neanderthals have generally been denigrated as the epitome of low-brow human existence. This documentary may just break the mould of this (mis)conception.
Patrick Stewart narrates this film - what’s not to love - and tells us that the Neanderthals moved across Europe from Russia, to the Atlantic Coast and then…disappeared. What happened to them? Well, my guess is that seeing the sea before them, they sailed to America…and then…I think it’s best to end that joke there!
Anyways, enjoy this sumptuously filmed documentary.

I'm not sure if I have a favorite documentary, Geoff Hall. Netflix has a lot of them (www.netflix.com/browse/genre/6839). I wanna write a documentary/fiction script one day.

Maurice Vaughan nice one, Maurice. My favourite documentary is Michael Moore’s ‘Bowling for Columbine’.
In my fictional animated urban fantasy, I have a great character who’s a documentary maker and they educate the citizens of Buenos Aires, showing them how society arrived at that point in the story, as their history is lost to them. He gathers evidence from archive films. He’s turned out to be one of my favourite characters in the series. I must have a soft spot for documentary makers!

I love docs too. My personal favorite is an ESPN 30 For 30 called THE TWO ESCOBARS about how Pablo Escobar built Columbia into a global soccer powerhouse for it all to end in tragedy (of course). But there are so many that I love. Netflix has some great docs on health and nutrition I'm into right now that are really provocative.

Linwood Bell haha, so LV is where the last remaining colony of Neanderthals fled to, from Europe? By your DNA, Linwood, that must make you fell right at home!

Sam Sokolow Hi Sam, it seems anything based in Columbia at that time was doomed to failure. Have you seen ‘The Need To Grow’? It’s a brilliant documentary about rejuvenating the Earth’s soil and providing healthy food for humans too.

I just looked up "Bowling for Columbine," Geoff Hall. It's on my watchlist now.
Your fictional animated urban fantasy sounds intriguing. Looking forward to seeing it.
I want my documentary/fiction script to look like a documentary and a fiction movie mixed in. I'm not really sure what that'll look like yet.

Maurice Vaughan is it going to be an inner-world drama with an outer-world documentary, Maurice?

I'm not sure, Geoff Hall. I'll probably get a better idea of the format once I outline the script.

Sam Sokolow it’s an inspirational story, Sam, not just about the science of soil regeneration but also the amazing human commitment to the urgent need of this activity.

Exciting, Geoff Hall! =) My husband is a big documentary fan, so I'll likely be waiting until he has a spare moment to watch it with me. I'll let you know once I do!

Started to watch documentaries by David Attenborough on insect life in jungles. Never thought I would LOL maybe getting more eccentric. One spider a great antagonist for horror. Dug hole in ground, over it knitted a false floor. Beetle fell in & spider laid eggs in it, to be eaten from inside out whilst still alive feeding babies.

Debbie Croysdale ah, Debbie, would that be the Lawyer Spider, or perhaps the Estate Agent Spider?
