I am the executive producer for the movie Traunik. I have several investors interested, but not taking that final step. Any advice for how to close the deal with these people? They seem to love the idea and are all gung ho in meetings, but nothing is moving forward.

from my experience, have your Investors meet the Stars involved. Open bar helps.
Is there talent attached at this point, Lynne? Maybe a little more color as to where the project stands at this juncture? Also, are you looking for these investors to be first money in? Or do you have some of the funds raised already?

My only question to RB is this: how can you get talent to come aboard before you even have one penny in the project? That is, in my opinion, a real quagmire.

The oldest closed circle problem, Rich. Things have swung however. If an actor is truly interested in the project, they may be willing to attach their name for a limited time. There's the famous (and well documented) story of CITY ISLAND where de Filetta (the writer, director) kept Andy Garcia involved for years while he raised the money. Not saying it's easy...definitely saying it's possible.

A difficult question to answer, Lynne. If they are holding back that usually means there is something missing. Only they know what piece of the puzzle that is. The only way to close the deal is to identify that missing piece and fix it. Do you have any feelings as to "why" they are not taking the final step? Any indication at all as to what they are concerned about? Perhaps with a little more info I can help.
