Financing Short Movie

I may ask the question: How do you gather money for your short movies? I have posted a logline in my profile of a short movie I want to produce. How are your experiences? Feel free to comment or contact me. Thanks!

Dan MaxXx

be rich yourself, have good credit, know folks with deep pockets. Seriously, how much $$ are you asking for? In film school, we were making short movies for less than $500, using free school equipment & shooting on weekends.

Have you tried small Gofundme campaigns? Something not to big or complicated for a start to build up a library of your work.

No money? Lot of that going around. If you can get the equipment for free - (as Dan said) film school, friends have a few cameras, lights, external mic, computer for editing then you are golden. Not having anything will make you 10x creative. You can also shoot good images with an iPhone 6S+ or higher (or Andriods) using the native camera or getting the Filmic Pro app. Necessity is the mother of invention.

I made my short for $1,500 I had a small crew everybody was free. I think if you are putting the time in anyways though you might as well go for the gold. I hear there isn't money in shorts, so you have to put your own money into them most of the time. Most people honestly watch more feature film so putting one together is yet time consuming, but important to becoming a filmmaker. At the least start a crowdfunding campaign so you don't have to pay outta pocket for disruption. Even for your shorts, so if you have clips make a scissor real and be very detailed with want you want to talk about.
