Earned my very first paycheck as an actor at 10, and couldn't resist the lure of the footlights through college. After teaching drama and working summer stock for a while, the need for a steady paycheck to support a family sparked a 40-year detour into journalism. It was still storytelling and I learned new skills in radio, TV, newspaper, wire service and online jobs, having some amazing life experiences along the way. Since retiring a little over a year ago, I jumped back into my first love and have landed background and small supporting roles in four feature films and five TV shows, a couple of radio plays and voice over work in documentaries and audiobook narration. With a standing weekend gig as a Confederate general at the American Civil War Museum, I have just enough work to keep me from getting bored. Looking forward to learning and networking here. I long ago gave up illusions of getting rich or famous, but I'm determined not to give up until I get GOOD.
John, great to have you in the community!
