Introduce Yourself : Christopher Keene of Keene Law Office by Christopher J. Keene, Esq.

Christopher Keene of Keene Law Office

Hello, all. My name is Chris Keene, and I am an entertainment lawyer and a producer of documentary films, based in Los Angeles. I began my career while in law school at Vanderbilt, assisting with music deals while working in CAA's Nashville office. After graduating and returning home to Los Angeles, I joined the Endeavor Agency as an agent trainee. While there, I learned a great deal about the television and film businesses while assisting current WME partners Greg Hodes (television literary) and Philip Raskind (motion picture literary). I left the agency in 2000 to produce THE KID STAYS IN THE PICTURE and, later, produced CHICAGO 10. Both films were directed by Academy Award nominee Brett Morgen. I started practicing entertainment law in earnest in 2005. In film, I primarily represent writers, directors, and producers, and handle rights agreements, talent agreements, production legal affairs, and distribution agreements. A rapidly expanding area of my practice is non-scripted television. In TV, I primarily represent executive producers, talent, and production companies. Here's a link to my page on IMDB Pro: http://pro.imdb.com/name/nm1171087/. I live in Hermosa Beach with my wife and two young children, and enjoy spending my free time in and around the ocean. Feel free to contact me at the phone number and email address noted on my IMDB page. Best of luck to everyone with your projects!

Loved "The Kid Stays In The Picture" across the board-- the book, the audio version read by Evans, and finally the movie. I live in Miami Beach and when my kids were younger, we listened to the audio version of the book on a trip to Disney World. They picked up a few "new" words that day. I think the ending declaration is one of the best anywhere. Are you still producing on the side? Or repping writers? I'm looking to get my award-winning dance drama made into a movie or staged as a three-act play. The shortened '"radio" version was a hit at its first reading at the prestigious National Black Theatre in Harlem. Anyway, I have more scripts, some are based on books and I'm looking for representation. In any event, thanks for getting one of my favorite books of all time made into a movie.

Thanks, DC. Much appreciated. The audiobook is indeed fantastic. Regarding your writing, etc., let's connect and chat about that privately. Thanks again.
