I am a 3-time cancer survivor and a screenwriter. Many of my scripts incorporate my cancer experiences within them, both in dramas and comedies. I also write holiday/family scripts and musicals (although my musicals do not include the music only the book and lyrics).
Hey Jim if you would like to test out some of that writing join us at LA Play Reading on Facebook. We record virtual performance on Zoom of original material. We perform these short ten minute scripts every 4th Sunday at 2:00 pm PT.

I am over 6 months past my stem cell transplant. Everything is looking good. Time to concentrate on my writing again.
Glad everything's looking good, Jim Newton. What's your first project going to be?

I am working on a cross between Home Alone and the Grich, where a disgruntled mall Santa steals presents from neighboring homes and an 11-year-old detective confronts him in a big show down.

Hi Jim, welcome to Stage32, a great place for resources for writers and I'm happy to make your acquaintance. I took a peek at your profile and "Chasing Abigail" would definitely be on my Holiday binge watch list. I love holiday and musical movies, so, I binge watch them non-stop during the holidays. I look forward to seeing more of your work :-)

Wow, that sounds like it's going to be a great Christmas movie, Jim Newton! I can see how it's "Home Alone" meets "The Grinch"! You got a really unique story.
