I'm a writer - or rather trying to become a writer! Any advice about how to make yourself write regularly would be extremely welcome! I seem to have become very good at procrastination!
From a habitual procrastinator: If you haven't already, join the Writers Room! Every day but Sun & Mon, we have a Writers' Cafe for 2 hours. Zoom, catch up/ask questions, then turn cameras/mics off to write an hour, check in quickly, write another hour, wrap up "what I accomplished" at the end. The time flies by and now instead of procrastinating, I feel guilt if I ONLY write during the Cafes! You'll find the links posted on the Writers Room Lounge, which you can join for the first month free -- you'll receive email offers.
Hi Cathy! The best practice to get you in the habit of writing is to just set aside 10 minutes everyday to just put pen to paper, doesn't matter what you write, so long as you start creating the habit of consistency... your writing will expand from there!
I second what Cara said, check out this blog post for more info on the Writers’ Cafe, and I always find taking a regular class with assignments is great for accountability, so I’ll link a good option below but def check out the Education Class/Lab section for more!
