Introduce Yourself : Hi there! by Gabriel Fernández-Gil

Greetings! My name is Gabriel Fernández-Gil, I'm from Spain, currently living in the UK, experienced traveler around the world, and I'm about to introduce myself! My goal as a future professional is to be a Director for hire; I love challenges, adapting my knowledge and technique to each unique project, being inspired by screenplays and concepts (I think every story is great, some just need to be polished a bit more), and, of course, learn from everything to improve every time I have the opportunity to. I also have some unique ideas and concepts of my own, which I'd love to share with talented writers and producers that might be interested. I'm always working on creating and perfecting my own vision and I think I have the ability to adapt it for each work, however, I know and admire other filmmakers from my generation with a more defined vision. I'm always improving my technical knowledge while not limiting myself to the already existing techniques if required, however, I know there are out there more technical filmmakers from my generation. I've acted in the past, and I'm aware of how hard it is and of the fact that actors and the emotions they convey are one of the most important element in any story, however, I know there are better "actor directors" from my generation. What I think there isn't a lot of and I offer is a balanced director, who is aware of his limitations and is constantly working on them, improving without letting any skill behind, who trusts the other professionals involved in a production, try to inspire them without dictating, and is eager to learn from them to work better the next time. For now, and unless I achieve my goal sooner than I thought, I'm available for anything which I can learn and get experience from. And, now that I think about it, funk the "unless" part, I'll always be available to work in anything that I can learn from! Feel free to contact me for anything you need!
