Hey, everyone. My name’s Maurice. I’m an experienced screenwriter, commercial writer, and pitch deck designer. I mainly write micro-budget and low-budget scripts (mostly Horror). I'm also a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator.
Icebreaker: What book, game, play, etc. do you wanna see as a movie or show?
That's a great question, Maurice Vaughan. As a comic geek, I'd say there hasn't really been a really well done and serious Robin origin told on the big screen. Therefore, my vote goes to "Batman: A Lonely Place of Dying".
If we're sticking to the comic series or graphic novel, it'd be Two-Face. But if it were adapted, it's Batman's journey into despair after Jason's death that is the focus so it really could be anyone. It'd be tough to come up with a better Two-Face than Nolan's "The Dark Knight" but it could be done.
I think Two-Face would be great as the villain, Leonardo Ramirez. He's one of my favorite Batman villains. It'd be hard to top the Two-Face from Nolan's "The Dark Knight." My favorite Batman villain is Mr. Freeze. I think because of the "Batman & Robin" movie I saw when I was a kid.
I think I may have mentioned this before Maurice Vaughan but I LOVE Mr. Freeze. What appeals to me about him is his devotion to his sick wife which is tragic but beautiful. I loved the guy who voiced him in the animated series. His name was Michael Ansara and he also played a Klingon in the old Star Trek series. The guy never got enough credit for his awesome voice work.
Hello Maurice! Personally I am still waiting for Stranger in a Strange Land to make it to screen. Amazing book, still have the first copy I bought in 1977 when I was eight. Lost count of the times I've re-read it over the years.
Hey Maurice, good question, I'd love to see (maybe write), a correct version of "Never ending story". I'm sure it can work better as a series but we can also do what Peter Jackson did with "The lord of the rings". In this case is only one book but with enough material for a trilogy.
Hi Leonardo Ramirez Such an amazing book with so many avenues of exploration of the human condition that could mesmerize the audience. 62 years in and no one has been able to bring it to screen.
I've made a few mood boards for people, @Sophie Von Rheden. I use Canva.com. It's easy to use. Canva is free, but Canva Pro is $14.99 per month. The price is worth it (www.canva.com/pro).
Piesaurus Rex. AKA Cocozilla. The image you see was captured by a motion camera in the dead of night. Scientists lovingly named him, Fru-Fru for the daintiness in the way he carried his pie.
He's been approached by several agents Maurice Vaughan. It's a guessing game as to what kind of pie he favors so they don't always win. He asks a pie question in the form of a riddle and if the person doesn't get it right they get put into the St. Patisserie Eternal Bakeshop until they get it right.
I would love to see a movie about "MASCHE" (maskae") ( or maybe we can think about making one ;) )
Piedmont, the Italian region where I was born has a fascinating array of myths and legends, like the "Masche" (maskae) a particular type of witch that is said to be living in the area for thousands years. Their origin is probably dated even before Christianity, from the Celtic and the Longobard roots of that area.
Masche were primarily specialized in the use of herbs as medicines, making potions for diseases, but were also able to use them as weapons to poison people. They were both respected because of their ability with herbs and diseases, but at the same time people were scared of their huge power...
I have never met one of these witches, but I use herbs and flowers ( actually I have actively been studying them for decades now) to keep my emotional balance and stay healthy all the time. It is only for good, I swear LOL.
Robin Gregory I haven't been writing stories since I left Italy and my job at theatre in 2016 and I am pretty busy writing music, but who knows what future brings? Maybe with the help of some screenwriting friends....:)

Yeah..."Stranger" is a classic. I first became aware of it in '71. I'm a dinosaur. Classic Leon Russell tune, too.
