Introduce Yourself : Indie RomCom Author by Ivan Scott

Indie RomCom Author

Hey everyone!

My name is Ivan Scott and I am an Indie writer in Atlanta. I have six RomCom/Romance books published and a seventh on the way in the spring of 2025.

I look forward to connecting with other writers, as well as agents and producers who would like some fresh stories to sell to the Hallmark Channel since my books are all worthy of a HC Christmas movie!

Cyrus Sales

Hey Ivan Scott - Love to see the eagerness to get connected. I would highly recommend subscribe to the screenwriting and producer lounge and connecting with individuals in there. I've made some great connects and everyone has been extremely kind in my own journey (audio guy dabbling in screenwriting).

Hey Ivan Scott - congrats on all your work. That's a great library to have for producers to comb through.Cyrus Sales is right. You should head over to the producer's lounge and make some connections. Also try the writer's room since there are monthly open writing assignments that you can submit to. All the best!

Ivan Scott

Thanks, everyone! I will do that right now. :)

Great to see you again, Ivan Scott. Congratulations on your seventh book coming out next year! Seven books is impressive!

Ivan Scott

Thanks, Maurice! I'll tell ya, as you know, it's a labor of love creating something like this so I appreciate your kind words. Now if I can only find someone to help me bring them to the world...haha

Hey Ivan Scott, great to meet you! I have cousins in Atlanta so I've spent many a weekends there over the years. Since you're a Rom Com writer, I'd love to know what your favorite part about a Rom Com is? Is it the meet cute, the will-they won't they, the fun & games, the heartbreak, the get back together, or something else?

Ivan Scott

Hey Pat! We live in the northern burbs so I am sure you've had fun while you've been here. I think it's the innocence of it all. Especially in this day and age when all we see and read are stories of the not so good things in the world, seeing two people fall in love is always a nice change. The meet-cute is always fun, especially if you can add some witty dialogue to it, and put them in crazy situations that give the reader an escape from the real world. I also like enemies to lovers since you know they despise each other, then you read about how that thaws, and all the emotion of disliking that person flips inside out and that is now love and admiration. Of course there has to be an obstacle and that adds the drama to it. But if it's on Hallmark Channel, you know it will go bad with 15 minutes to go, and then resolved with 5 so those are comforting thoughts. What do you like about RomComs? Thanks so much for the message!
