Hello to all you wonderful Stage 32 members! I'm Catherine, a screenwriter who's always seeking that next great story to put into motion! Question: Does anyone have experiences/wisdom and/or commentary on composing a query letter to option a book? I've a 'live wire' I'd love to pursue!
And... I do enjoy reading other peoples' work for the experience of it and will provide feedback if requested! Best to you all!

Hi, Catherine Cole. I hope you're doing great! I don't have any experience/wisdom for composing a query letter to option a book, but I think that's a great question for the Producing Lounge since a producer would probably be the one optioning the book.

Hi Catherine Cole! Love your enthusiasm and that you’ve found a “live wire” story worth pursuing! When it comes to composing a query letter to option a book, it's definitely a strategic balance between showing your passion for the material and demonstrating your professionalism. I’d recommend jumping into the Authoring Lounge here on Stage 32 to spark a conversation around this. There are some incredibly generous members who may have gone through the same process and can share their approach.
Also, so generous of you to offer feedback to others. This community thrives because of creatives like you!
