I'm an academic librarian, but I have written a couple novels and plus a screenplay based in my meeting Tibetan refugees and activists in San Francisco in the 1990s. Basically, they told me back then what was going in Tibet and Northwestern China (Xinjiang). Sadly, the story hasn't changed today.

I would love to chat with you more. I have spent the last year writing a stage play and then developed a TV pilot and outline for a series on a woman from Canada who was born in Afghanistan and went back with her son and got caught up in the Taliban take over.
I am from Vancouver Island, Canada and had a great deal of difficulties connecting with Afghanistan people who want to talk about their experience. I am in my final year of Creative Writing at my local university and loved writing my screenplay.
