Greetings!
I'm an author (three books), indie filmmaker (one film), and screenwriter (countless spec scripts). I'm based in Santa Monica and I've been on Stage 32 for a few years now.
I've just recently taken advantage of the paid opportunities through Stage 32 to pitch to film execs and I'm two for two so far! I've only pitched twice in my lifetime and with both pitches through Stage 32 I've managed to have the film exec request my scripts.
I hope to have a "success story" to share after they read my scripts. I recommend taking advantage of the classes, pitches, etc... on the platform. It's one more option to add to contest submissions and query letters (if people still do those) to get yourself and your work exposure.
Nice meeting! Good luck!

Hey, Christopher M. Rutledge! Great to see you again! WOW, congratulations on your successes with your pitch sessions - that's fantastic! Were they projects based on your novels, or different projects? I'd love for you to share any advice you have with fellow screenwriters in the Screenwriting Lounge: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting
Also, I really dig your website - simple, clean, but effective. Great work! I may snag Asclepius for my weekend reading as I'm quite interested in complementary therapies.
Keep at it, and keep us posted! We definitely want to hear that success story!

Hey Karen "Kay" Ross! I'll be glad to share this advice to the Screenwriting Lounge.
Yes, the pitched scripts were based on my novels, one of which is ASCLEPIUS, so great reading choice for the weekend :). Enjoy!
