After working in Hollywood for 30+ years as a script consultant and union story analyst), I relocated in 2018 to Flathead Valley, Montana (a few hours' drive from where "Yellowstone" is shot). I intended to retire, but instead became the local screenwriting mentor for Authors of the Flathead, the local writers group which has hosted an annual conference for 30 years for authors, memoir writers and now screenwriters too.
I currently organize a monthly Montana Screenwriting Meetup which meets in person at Flathead Valley College or on Zoom, and teach workshops like the one I gave on pitching your film or script at the 2021 Bigfork Independent Film Festival.
In 2020, I also created and coordinated a new regional screenwriting competition -- if you're a Montana screenwriter or live elsewhere but have written scripts with Montana locations (specific, not generic) be sure to network with me on Stage 32 -- then I can let you know first when the next Montana Screenwriting Competition opens for submissions in mid-2022!
Niiice. I moved from Virginia to Los Angeles for a screenwriting program at UCLA in 2014 and am still working on my memoir. Zoom Meetups for screenwriting classes?
