Introduce Yourself : South Coast Screenwriter - BAFTA Rocliffe winner by Dominic Flint

Dominic Flint

South Coast Screenwriter - BAFTA Rocliffe winner

Looking forward to chatting here.

I am one of the 2020 BAFTA Rocliffe new film-writing competition winners: my entry was adapted from my novel, The Burning Hill, a dark crime-thriller set in Brazil (I live on South Coast of England but my wife is Brazilian and we spent time living there).

I am currently working on a couple of TV pilot ideas.

Hey, Dominic Flint! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team Nice to meet you and welcome to the community!

Wow, congratulations on your recent win, that's awesome! What's next for your script? Has it been optioned or purchased? Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or maybe managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com

I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read!

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!

Hello Kay Karen "Kay" Ross, thank you so much for getting in touch. I have a UK based director, Ian Aryeh, on board, and we are looking for backers. Although I wrote it mainly in English for the competition, we think it would work better if it was shot mainly in Portuguese.

I'm also working on a couple of UK-set TV pilots: a sci-fi/mystery and a crime thriller.

I checked out the links you included and enjoyed reading your post - I'm also a martial arts fan (I did jujitsu for quite a few years before rupturing my ACL in a comp).

I'm finding my way through the site - there's is so much rich content - and keen to sign up for some webinars and make some connections. I will also drop Jason a line. Really appreciate all your help.

How are things going with your projects?

All the best, D

Thank you. Loved reading your profile. I'm going to apply the cheeseburger scale to everything from now on (even though I'm allergic to dairy) :)

Jackie Tarascio
