Introduce Yourself : Visual Storyteller by Eric C. Jackson

Hello, My name is Eric. I am a photographer and creative writer in Northern Florida. How Lighting is used to help tell stories has always interested me. Most of my photographs have a contemporary art style, which is influenced by cinematography and fine art. Sometimes, they spark an idea for a feature-length screenplay or short script. A perfect example is the attached scene entitled, "Rivals." I am finished editing the Rough Draft. This is my fourth original feature-length screenplay. I also have five Short Scripts, several Short Stories, one adapted screenplay, and one 26-Episode concept based on a video game.. Genres range from Comedy to Drama. Of course, there are other ideas that have not made it to paper. One of my short scripts, entitled "No Fear," was produced as a Student Film and won First Place for the 2011 Azusa Pacific University 48-Hour Film Festival. The cast and crew did an excellent job with improvising as obstacles arose in sticking with the script verbatim. Through that process, I learned that my job as a screenwriter is to give talented people the foundation to work with. Then, allow them to use their gifts and talents to enhance what is written. I love all of the Alfred Hitchcock films I've seen to date. I also admire James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, and J.J. Abrams. I think they are great Visual Storytellers. I enjoy well-written dialogue and Characters that have substance, even if they are the villains. It's what I have to practice as I continue to write. Thank you for your time. Eric C. Jackson
