I just want to ask (I think I asked this) but can someone like myself post a part or a chapter of a story they are working on to get some critiques or is this more for scripts, summeries and longlines?
Are we talking 10 lines of any length, or just dialog? I've seen thousands of movies, and to this day I couldn't tell you the first ten lines of dialog of any of them. There's a point where less is nothing.Without context, description of some sort, 10 lines ain't a'gonna do it for me. Unless ... those lines are long ones: 1. It was a cold day in the South of France when I first met Pierre on the pier playing the bagpipes with a side of haggis for his Dog, Harry, who followed him around doing tricks for drachmas. 2. The men in the rubber rafts looked like Nazis to me, but I could be wrong, as I have been wrong before. 3. Like the time I mistook nuns for demons.
Gregory Barone Are you referring to the first chapter written in a novel or short story format, or the first scene of a screenplay? If it's a novel or short story scene of 1000 words, you can send it to me and I will give you feedback. Prefer word doc for ease of commenting if possible. Is there something particular you want to know? random_spirit@yahoo.com
Gregory: Sure, I'd read a first chapter (as long as you don't write like Dickens!). Have to warn you, I close-read. I'm on facebook & you can pm me for e-mail address.
Gregory Barone Hmm, I'm not seeing it in my email inbox so far. What was the subject line in case I'm overlooking it? My website is www.sallieolson.com
Jenean McBrearty just to let you know I don't read any of Dickens's books. seen some of the movie adaptions of his stories. so I just look u up on FB with the same name as on here?

OK D.E. White just the first ten lines of the chapter and not the whole 1K chapter at a time? I can also do it in ten line intervals for the chapter?
