Editing Job

I'm looking for an editor for a short film I did in the Spring. All footage is on a Mac hard drive. The short film is approx 17 min. What is the going rate to find a reliable editor to complete this project?? I keep getting a wide range of prices from people. Some seem too low and others are outrageous.

How much footage is there to edit with? Send me a private message or email me at rafaelpinero@pinerproductions.com if you don't want to share too much details in public.

Depends on who you're asking for. A student editor would be happy with low amount of pay. Professional editors will be high :) it's best to look for students who wants little bit of money.

Im not sure how this works. If I was to edit, I would be cool with 5-15 bucks a hour or a cost for the whole thing to be completed. I would say 5-10 dollars per a minute of the film.

It really depends on the editor and the quality of the footage. If the footage is shaky, audio is bad, and having other problems, most editors would charge more for the amount of fixing they're going to have to put into the film. Now if it's good everything, you'd be paying for quality. A good editor knows what his time is worth but he will make you something awesome that you won't regret.
