Wild move to simply purge archives. What's craziest about this is how so many of these clips and content pieces could've simply been uploaded to YouTube on official brand channels and preserved for all time (while making the company the most passive on revenues). Especially the MTV News segments that are/were likely amazing time capsules.

It is wild, Pat Alexander. That's one reason why people are buying physical media.

I hope they have backups somewhere. Most of the time the master files/tapes are stored, and all the copies get destroyed.
