Now we know what Denis Villeneuve’s next (non-Dune) project will be.
It’s based on the book, “Nuclear War: A Scenario” by Annie Jacobsen. The book was a Pulitzer Prize finalist. I obviously move in the wrong literary circles, because I’ve never heard of Jacobsen. I suppose one company’s successful IP is another person’s never heard of mystery.
Anyways, this gets Villeneuve out of the Dune cocoon for a while, as he’d said he needs a break from it. I must admit that it doesn’t make me feel like it’s a must see, even as a DV fan, but I’ll see what he makes of such cheery fare.
Or maybe I feel so unenthused because it’s a low-dopamine morning, here in Bristol. What are your thoughts? Are you a Jacobsen fan?

I was not aware of this book but I am absolutely going to read it. Curious to see how Villeneuve interprets it on screen.
One of the most important topics in the world. Will be interested how he handles it. Oppenheimer (and Putin’s threats) have pushed this long nightmare back into consciousness..
