Great topic, Amanda Toney! Sue Naegle said, "Mentorship is everything. It is the #1 thing that we can do to move those numbers is mentor young women." I think that'd definitely help! A lot of mistakes and time can be cut if producers, directors, writers, etc. are mentored instead of doing it themselves.
.Really interesting article. Even not being female I think mentorship ought to be considered important in any position.
Note I was reading a different article not too long ago for a different source of reference material.

"behind-the-scenes roles, women comprised 34% of executive producers, 45% of producers, 33% of writers, 19% of directors, 19% of editors, and 8% of directors of photography. "
According to their reports it isn't as dire as Mary Parent said. It was 6 percent over those years. Still not great. But I think in the next 10 years it is expected to be less than 8 percent increase in producers for any gender.
The numbers however are absolutely dreadful for the other crew positions.
