Producing : Location - WWII Era Army Barracks by Michael Bennett

Location - WWII Era Army Barracks

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know where I can find a U.S. based WWII era Army barracks for a film I've written and will be producing? The actual setting is in Tennessee, but I can make a good location work if the buildings, or at least the facade is still standing, especially if it's in the American south.

Thanks,

Michael Bennett

Hi Michael Bennett - I've heard that South Carolina has some cool locations that may work - Fort Jackson is there, they shoot Army Wives in Charleston, and Full Metal Jacket was shot at Paris Island. I'd recommend calling up the Film Commission there to explore. The Savannah, GA Film Commission may have some ideas, as well, as there are several military bases in that area. Wishing you huge luck with your film!

If you only need certain buildings for shots and not the whole base, check out the National Infantry Museum in Georgia.
