My "Directing Workshop" will begin on Tuesday 22nd August. If there are any emerging directors or directors wanting to learn new skills and shoot their film before the year is out this workshop is for YOU!!!

Over $2000,000.00 has been raised so far on crowdfunding platforms by workshop participants. Our First time directors have collectively had their films accepted into over 30 Film Festivals and have won awards.
Directing the Short Film or Proof-of-Concept (POC) Film
(10 weeks: 1 class per week, 3 hours per class)
In a production zoom room setting, pitch and write your short/POC story, learn how to finance and then finance your production, crew and cast your project, use the camera to tell the best story! Film Festival Strategy and Career Advice. Be prepared to leave the workshop ready to direct your short/POC.
Dates: TUESDAY AUGUST 22nd - 2023
Time: 3 hours per week for 10 weeks (7pm to 10pm Pacific Time)
Venue: ONLINE ZOOM ROOM

The Workshop covers from development to the screen.
* Developing the script (10 pages or less) and fine tuning it. (If you don't have a script we give you resources to find one)
* Crowdfunding & Financing your film (one of our students raised over $20,000 through the workshop) We also have a partnership with Seed & Spark and they offer our workshop participants a 1 on 1 call.

About Founder & Instructor:
Kate Rees Davies is an award-winning director with experience in narrative features, short film, music videos and commercials. A directing graduate of UCLA, her love and enthusiasm of the craft of filmmaking is infectious. Six of her shorts have screened at Cannes. Davies was one of the first independent filmmakers to shoot on 4K with the Sony F65 and as a result, has had her work distributed on the Sony 4K TV. Davies wants to transition into directing for Television and has shadowed Joey Solloway on Transparent Season 5. Davies came to LA to eventually direct Marvel Features and her ultimate goal is to direct a James Bond Movie. She currently teaches directing at UCLA online. She also recently finished working with RuPaul.
