Your Stage : Thoughts on this logline? by Ryan Avery

Ryan Avery

Thoughts on this logline?

"When a London slacker accidentally activates a device that allows him to enter a realm outside of time, he joins a secret society protecting the timeline from dark forces seeking to rewrite history and bring about an apocalypse."

Does it intrigue? does it bore you?

thanks!

Maurice Vaughan

Terrific logline, Ryan Avery! I wanna watch this movie!

Ryan Avery

yessss

Maurice Vaughan

What's the title, Ryan Avery?

Ryan Avery

Clocktower

Maurice Vaughan

I like it, Ryan Avery! Catchy title. And it fits the story.

Ryan Avery

should i go for it?

Maurice Vaughan

I think you should, Ryan Avery. It think it's a unique, marketable, fun concept!

Ryan Avery

Maurice Vaughan What would be your next step that you would take?

Maurice Vaughan

I'd outline the script, Ryan Avery. Or do you have the script written already and you're asking what I'd do pitch wise?

Ryan Avery

Maurice Vaughan all written. and yes if you believe thats the right step to take?

Maurice Vaughan

What's your goal for the script, Ryan Avery?

Arthur Charpentier

there is already such a series - El ministerio del tiempo

Ryan Avery

Maurice Vaughan to get it seen and optioned.

Ryan Avery

Arthur Charpentier that may be so but not in the way that I am telling the story.

Arthur Charpentier

the concept is interesting. then it depends on how good your story is.

Maurice Vaughan

Did you register your script with the copyright office in your country, Ryan Avery? And have you gotten feedback on your script?

After doing those two things, the next step I'd take is posting the logline, synopsis, and script on my Stage 32 profile. Producers search profiles on here for projects. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your logline, synopsis, and script on your profile this way (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”): www.stage32.com/loglines

Then I'd pitch my script to executives, managers, etc. through Stage 32's Pitch Sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions). The Pitch Sessions are mainly to get feedback on pitches, but members have gotten managers, signed shopping agreements, etc. through the sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

And I've been thinking about entering a Stage 32 contest, so I'd probably do that after the Pitch Session (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/contests).

Ryan Avery

Maurice Vaughan can i send you the synopsis?

Maurice Vaughan

Sorry, but I'm really busy with Introduce Yourself Weekend, November Write Club, and some other things, Ryan Avery.

Maurice Vaughan

I just read the synopsis, Ryan Avery. Fantastic job on it! One small suggestion. Change "young man" to "young slacker. You put "slacker" in the logline, but I think you should put it in the synopsis too. I think "slacker" is more attractive than "man."

Ryan Avery

Maurice Vaughan thank you! Done and changed. I am pushing my tv pilot at the moment but I think this could be a nice fallback if a company would rather pursue a feature

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Ryan Avery. Keep us posted on your TV series and feature!
