Is anyone else using Causality from HollywoodCameraWork to build and write their scripts? I haven't completely abandoned my index cards, and I find the 'research area' is still limiting, but I use it for most of my process right now. Wondering if/what other's experience with the app was.

I don't think I've heard of Causality, Sebastian Tudores. It looks incredible! I plan on trying it for my next spec script. Thanks for posting about it.

Looks promising. I’ll try it for a short script. I like rethinking the look and structure of the writing process. Looks like there’s a sort of notecard mode.
Not a fan of subscriptions for writing apps. I’d have to really love it to pay the full price of $279.
I think my next purchase in this area is Scrivener, which is $60 per OS, so even if I want both Mac and PC, I’m still paying less.

Mike Boas Scrivener is probably the best research/writing space combo out there. Especially for organizing research. That's gonna be a great investment.
RE subscription price, I see your point - I've been using his products for a long time so I kinda got grandfathered in. I don't even remember what I paid for it.
I feel Causality works best if you like (or need, in my case) to work very visually. It sort of integrates into one working space the note carding and the writing, etc. The other thing I like about it is the ease of visually (here's that preference again :) ) working within the Act-Sequence-Scene-Beat hierarchy and the way I can easily track different plotlines.
I'll be curious to know your experience when/if you try it. Hope you're having a great weekend!

Sebastian, Causality sounds pretty good!
I clicked the link, saw the site, and I'm tempted to try Causality...but I was wondering if the system will let me upload one of my already-completed scripts to check it for plot holes.
Thanks for posting...and here's wishing you all the VERY BEST!

I work with Final Draft which is quicker to use; Causality provides more options regardless of its elaborate design that may take longer time to learn.

you're absolutely right about the Causality learning curve Martin Foroz - took a bit of time, for sure

Jim Boston yes, you can import in Final Draft, Fountain, or Word file types - enjoy!
