Hello Everybody! I am pleased to be part of the community that care cares for its members and is eager to help in a variety of ways. I appreciate your input and also wish this could go on for ever and ever. As a writer, I read a lot of screenplays and I admit it that some confuses me especially when comes to formatting. Some writers don't use transitions whereas some of the writers do. It is said that it's obvious when switching to a new slugline that we are cutting and it is not necessary to use transitions like CUT TO, DISSOLVE TO, FADE TO, ETC even though they are traditional. I know for a fact, I can't remember where have I read this, DISSOLVE TO can be used if transition between scenes is a very long time, months years or longer. The rest, avoid it.
The only time I use a transition is before and after a dream sequence or a flashback. Other than that, the scene headings are an obvious transition.
