Cynthia, I use FD and haven't found a way to import a PDF without reformatting the content. It really sucks because it takes sooooo long to redo everything
WritersDuet has the capability of uploading a script in PDF format. I'm not sure about how well it keeps the original formatting. But it has excellent formatting features and can export a screenplay as an FDX file, which can be imported into Final Draft.
.pdf is not so much a format as a print-to-file reduction. Nearly all useful information contained in, say, a screenplay project file is lost. Best you can hope for is to do an OCR on it to plaintext or .rtf, then (try to) import into your screenwriting app. Just be prepared for a long slog in reassigning bits & pieces to dialogue, action, shots, slugs, wrylies, etc.
You can open the PDF in more recent versions of Word, then import it into Final Draft etc. You may lose some of the formatting when Word does the conversion though.
What is the basic thing I should know about script writing, I just joined the community and I have check the education and I cant afford the fees now, can I get any material (pdf) that should be a good guide for script writers (beginner). I want to start developing skits and I have alot of inspirations, and I know if I don't start developing them. I may loss the interest. Please any help
Read scripts. Then study them. Look how people start scenes, how they end scenes, how they structure story, described characters. There is no paint by numbers answer, it is craft. Like all craft it takes dedication to improvement. What I mean is don't repeat bad writing and call it your style. Look for improvement in everything.

I have cut and paste an entire script from PDF and then just went through and fixed the formatting. It an hour, but it's easy to do.

There's lots of resources for free on the web.
Chidimma Chiawa perhaps you should start a lounge topic closer to your question. Your comment is off-topic for this lounge topic.
