Here I am sitting under heavy rainclouds in Tampa. Tropical Storm Debby has left a tide line of debris all around my house. My pool is overflowing and I am just about to tackle the scary task of marketing a screenplay. The turbulence in my head is worse than the weather outside! Anyway, to anyone who's had a screenplay read by someone important in Hollywood - how did you reach that point? Cold calling, an email blast, posting it on InkTip? I don't live in LA so that's not an option... Would love some help here.

I've found that scouring IMDb Pro for contacts DOES help. No serious fruit yielded yet, but it does help with the education of who works with whom and what production companies associate with actual productions, managers, and the whathaveyou. I'd love to read a script from you. {: )
Thanks Andrew, that's pretty much what I've been doing all day, plus watching the weather. It's getting seriously windy here again. My latest screenplay is posted here if you'd like to read it. It's a period movie so I am quite limited to who will want it. If only I could bump into Ridley Scott at the supermarket!! Ha ha ha...
Pretty sure Ridley Scott has a personal shopper who does all of his grocery-related procurements. And then he has them airlifted to his private island. You know, the one just a few nautical miles away from Richard Branson's. Those rich bastards. Perhaps Tony Scott would be a more reasonable target, he only lives on an archipelago.
When I lived in Wimbledon Sir Richard was a regular at a hamburger joint I worked at. He's a really nice guy - but not a big tipper!
Too bad. He's kind of got a lot of money. I'll check your screenplay out! {: )
