Introduce Yourself : Introductions by Susan Kouguell

Hello! Good to be at Stage 32. About me...I’m an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker; my six short films are in the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection and archives, were included in the Whitney Museum Biennial and screened in many festivals and museums worldwide. As chairperson of Su-City Pictures East, LLC - a motion picture consulting company I founded in 1990, I work with international filmmakers, agents, managers, entertainment attorneys, production companies, and studios. I write about film, filmmakers and screenwriting for SydneysBuzz (on this platform),Script Magazine, and other publications. I teach screenwriting at Purchase College, SUNY, and present international screenwriting and business of screenwriting seminars for a number of organizations,including the WGA, DGA, IFP, and universities: NYU, BU, Emerson, New School, Prague Film School CZ). A writer-for-hire on a dozen indie features, I’ve associate produced two features, worked as a story analyst and story editor, and film acquisitions consultant for Paramount, Warner Bros., Miramax, Viacom, and more. I wrote the books The Savvy Screenwriter and Savvy Characters Sell Screenplays!, and my work has been included in other screenwriting books.
