Logans Run

How can I find out who's working on this now - if anyone? Or who has the current rights?

Dan MaxXx

quick google search and producer Joel Silver is producing a TV series. Start there.

Jerry "iceberg" Hayes

thanks! i did a google search and found a few people but wasn't really sure where to find "Correct" info as it seems the movie has had it's share of issues coming back.

Dan MaxXx

What are you trying to do with logan's run?

Jerry "iceberg" Hayes

got a really great idea for a trilogy that would explain how it got to be domed, "the run" and then after the running that ties things together really well, i think. would love to buy someone lunch that has a tie to it and just talk. :) odds against it but i buy a mean lunch.

William Martell

The only way to get the "Logan's Run gig" is for them to hire you. They call you, you don't call them. They read a bunch of great spec scripts by you, want to work with you, and bring you in if LOGAN'S RUN is an OWA to pitch your take. Then, if you have the "winning" pitch, they hire you... and give you a pile of notes on your take to turn it into their take and give you a deadline and then you start writing.

William Martell

Seems they have a writer...

yep. saw that. and i know there's a process for it i just really love this idea and was curious where they were with the process, or if they're even working on it. already reached out to ryan but no, i don't expect him to answer. just kinda fishin.

Warner's is producing and distributing with Silver Pictures as the production company. MGM/UA is likely the film rights holder with a co-development deal with Warner Brothers. Book and book sequel rights reside with Nolan and Johnson, the original authors. They've done two followup stories (a book and a novella) and Johnson's been writing a fourth installment (a book) but hasn't released it yet.

Save the karmic energy. LR's been in development for a long time and isn't on a fast track.

Jerry "iceberg" Hayes

understand that and thank you for the follow up. i'd love to just "do lunch" and talk but i also realize what a serious longshot that is and why. was not aware the original authors were involved and that's great. i'd love to see something done with this and just think my trilogy idea would be pretty amazing.

Jerry "iceberg" Hayes

thanks dan - appreciate the link. i know the odds of anyone even asking me what i think are less than my chances of going into my older years as a chip n dales dancer. well, a successful one. :) i put it on me i've not done more with it than think of a hell of a story line but it gives me something to do.
