Hello, I recently updated a website I put together to pass along information about a series of scripts I've written over the years. I think the site came out pretty well, but I've been having issues with the site's
download speed on my computer. The guy who designed the site said he it wasn't a problem on his end, so I was curious to see what other people's experience of it was. I would also welcome any comments on the concept for those who have any thoughts they'd like to share. Thanks in advance for your help,

I'm not having any issues with the download speed, Tim Morell. And I like the map background.

Thanks for letting me know, Maurice. Maybe I need to upgrade my computer.
You're welcome, Tim Morell.

Hello. Looks wild in the best way. Part one, below the image. Is it a logline that follows? Find the first sentence very hard to understand.

It's just his name below the image, and some of the map detail. The loglines are below the script title at the top of the page, under the site menu. Glad you liked the site. Other than the issues I seem to have with it downloading, I'm pretty happy with the way it came out. Be curious to find out if I can get any traction with it.

Hi Tim Morell, my Son and I do a fair amount of web projects, and I used to do stress testing as a consultant so I'll concentrate on your main questions about the site itself.
We have a 500 Mbps fiber connection, which is fast (at least for suburban Louisiana), so the noted issues should be on our side.
On our first attempt, the home page took 34 seconds to load (image attached), which is obviously problematic. We immediately ran a speed test (image attached) and our speed was good, so there is a problem there.
From there we did some basic console testing, and the biggest issue we could see without running a full diagnostic is the load of the main image. What we saw in local metrics was the LCP (largest contentful Paint) was poor, and in this case the link show in the attachment was for the image of of Elan on the Red Desert page.
Lastly, we just surfed around a little, going from page to page, which mixed results speed wise, clearing our cache every few tries so we were forcing the pages to fully reload simulating a user's first visit. Those reloads were mostly okay, still not as bad as the 34 second load, then at one point, the site stopped responding altogether. (error attached). That error is a refused connection, and while it's possible moving from page to page so quickly caused the error, it's not entirely unreasonable user interaction, so IMO still an issue.
On aesthetics, my only real issue is the background does make some of the text hard to read, so maybe lighten the background by changing the transparency, or, add a lighter semi-transparent background to the text boxes.
I noticed while writing that the response window is only allowing me to add one image, if you need the others send me your email in a DM and I'll be happy to forward them.
I know this was super critical, but it's what we do, and I truly hope it helps.
PS, looking forward to reading Part One!

Michael P Clark That's awesome of you to take the time to go through the page like that. Good stuff!
