You can't not love JD's honesty and spontaneity; this plus the fact that he repeatedly gives props to others, notably, leading lady Michelle Williams. ('Blackbird', now on Broadway, bows soon.) While Geeky Fan Me is totally bummed that he didn't walk away with this year's Tony Award, his attitude about awards and critics sounds as solid as his work ethic. Two of the takeaways here for me are: Do the work. Invest in yourself. Timeless advice. Posting here on the chance that a fellow Stage member will glean something inspiring from it as well.
