I don’t know if you have seen the recent spec script sales, but the market has been heating up. Just last week, two first time writers sold their screenplay to A24 in a bidding war. This was just the latest spec sale in the last couple of months.
Additionally, 8 of the top 10 grossing independent films in America last week were original screenplays. 9 of the top 10 Netflix films last week were original screenplays. More are on the way.
In short, the film screenplay and indie market is hot again and more and more executives are joining the Stage 32 roster looking for new voices and new material.

That's great news, Amanda Toney - I pitched 25 prodcos and managers over the last 2 weeks and have 3 script requests so far (still waiting on a few). That's a 12% request rate, which, IMO, seems pretty good for the speculation summer blockbuster sci-fi marketplace ;-)
