I've seen some very good designs, but no plans... Best I saw had adjustable racks, built in timers for the heaters, fans & insulated tubes that ran the heat that rises from the top of the box back down to the bottom, multiple thermometers that ran to a central readout to ensure an even heat throughout, outside thermometers that would turn off the heat if it got too hot, and the whole thing broke down into 4 pieces on casters for mobility...
Ohh! The arduino sounds like it could lead to some nice possibilities! I don't do programming myself, but I have a fascination with technology :) Were the burners, fans, & thermostats all tied in to the controller?
yes it has a 12 cu/in temperature gradient resolution and uses a gradient descent AI (it learns) to ensure all the burners and fans to maintain a constant preset temperature. It's pretty sweet.

thanks kyle yeah i have built one for about $300 using single burner hot plates theormostats and 5 volt fans controlled by an arduino.
