Hi all, I work with a company friend of S32 known as Raindance Canada and we host a monthly Booze 'n' Schmooze at our office in Toronto for independent filmmakers and friends. It's a great place to come in if you're looking for fresh blood so to speak or if you're fresh blood yourself. We've had some real seasoned professionals hook up with first timers to make magic happen over a couple of beers and would love to extend this to the S32 crowd. No need to shoot a message to me anymore. If you drop in, tell us you're from Stage 32 at the door!

Sounds good. I believe Alan Smith at the Carlton is trying to get us together for a discussion. The TO "indie" film Festival starts Thursday Sept 4 - 13 at the Carlton. I just put up another banner ad in the lobby today. If not before, you know where I'll be every evening after 5 pm for those 10 days. Check the official website. www.film-fest.ca. email contact is: toindieff@gmail.com. Cheers, Steve Veale

Come one, come all. The "TO indie" is shaping up for a record year. Please introduce yourself to me - I'll be at the 'official' meet-and-greet table for filmmakers. Friday Sept 5 will be good - Canadian actor/director Nick Mancuso will be there with two films. Then Nathaniel Fox-Pappas' doc "Tager" will screen Monday Sept 8. A fascinating short film about the lifelong artwork (He just turned 80) of local actor Aron Tager. You all know the face - likely not the name. see you at the Movies! (Steve Veale)

ps: Thanks. Oh and let me mention - Peter Howell at the To Star contacted me last Friday. He is writing an article about our poster - he thought it was catchy, creative, inventive; said it was what TIFF used to do....but hasn't for a long time! Ah ha ha. It may be in the special TIFF section, I believe tomorrow in the Star.

HAH - Yes, what TIFF used to be. I'm looking forward to connecting with you, Steve! Emily, this event was last night but it's something that happens every last Wednesday of the month. I know the lead time for this one was a little short on this one but I'll send out another reminder much sooner and much more organized in fashion for September. We'd love to have you!!
Thanks Mik. Did you see the article? It's great. Our poster sort of jumps out at you. I spoke too soon about meeting - turns out we will be busy today setting up at the Distillery and also planning some events for the weekend, so it may not be a good time. However if you are in town this weekend, I will be at the Distillery from Friday (6 AM - groan!) to 6 pm, and then every day from 10 AM to 6 pm until Monday. I'll be around the Information Booth (near Balzacs) or not far away. Sorry about today but Lory said we would be busy with setup and discussions. Steve

Hi everyone- We'd love if you could help Stage 32 celebrate our 3 year anniversary at your meet up! When you get together, take a photo and send it in to us and we will display it at the 3 year party in LA!
Count me in, please!

Sounds good Rik. I'll be away for the September gathering but will try for October. Cheers, John
Love Horror! There's a great community here in Toronto for that. What's it like down in LA?
Please add me to your list Mik.
I would like to attend but would have to make it a tentative. Doing make-up in TV never know where I am or the schedule until the eleventh hour. Sounds good though.
Randy, I went last week, had a great time, met lots of interesting folk. These are the last wednesday each month so hopefully you can make a future one. It will be great to meet you and I'm looking forward to it.
I will mark it on my calender and see how the month plays out.

Mik, I can't make Wed. the 24th, but I'm hoping to be in Toronto to meet you on Wed. Oct. 29th. I have a terrifying Halloween costume all set to go for that; I'll be dressed as screenwriter. Kudos to you for organizing all of this. Cheers, Graham

Where do you meet up?

Taya... The address is in the link in the original note. To repeat that info, the gathering is here: 276 Carlaw Ave, Suite 222, Toronto which is just south of Dundas on the west side of Carlaw. The room is at the extreem west side of the building so when you enter from Carlaw (the front) you need to go all the way to the back (although wandering around in search parties is fun as well) I've not connection to Raindance (well, I'm a member) but since Mik is so shy ;-) I will say I found it worth joining. I think he can help you out with that. I look forward to meeting you next week and hearing all about your current projects. m
