To me, the Transmedia world is akin to ice cream's Baskin-Robbins - 31 Flavors - where the audience comes into a StoryWorld and then has 31 flavors to choose from... in any way they choose... such as a triple-scoop-waffle-cone of cookie dough, chocolate, and vanilla... while their friend orders strawberry, pistachio, and rocky road. Yet, they all walk out - together - with a serving of ice cream that satisfies their specific taste. And then as they walk outside with their "ice cream triple-dip cones"... others see (and hear) their delight as they "lick" their "ice creams"... and decide to walk into the Baskin-Robbins for a cone of their own. Of course, the goal is to go and give Transmedia which is taste beyond flavor.

Interesting analogy.. I would add that Transmedia goes beyond making ice cream cones.. it's about the EXPERIENCE we have when we go into the store immersing ourselves into the lives of Ben and Jerry, how they came to be, what new flavors we create as the audience and the game we would play in the World of Flavors..

Tresa, the true genius of understanding Transmedia is the gentleman who's post is right above yours - Jonathan Kramer. He advised me to read the book "Transmedia 2.0"... read it in one page-turning weekend, two weeks ago. Awesome book... kudos... to JK for recommending it. A valuable resource.

Tresa.. good to see you found this section. I would add that the book mentioned while valuable is Nuno's perspective. The true leaders in this area are Lance Weiler, Jeff Gomez, Rob Pratten and Mike Jones. Krishna Stott, founder of Bellyfeel (UK) is developing the world's first smart phone channel so I would also suggest you sign up for his weekly email.
